In 2021, a simple trip to the ER for stomach pain revealed stage 4 colon cancer. Jake Trego began the fight no 33-year-old thinks is coming.

During his initial treatments, he was introduced to No Laying Up and dove into golf as a way to heal after surgeries and chemo. He joined the Nest and Ohio Against the World Roost and jumped into #getinvolved in the NLU community in a big way.

Last year, our friend (and frequent No Laying Up video collaborator) Matt Golden wanted to bring Jake's story to life through a documentary film. We, along with Imperial Hats and Stone Creek Coffee, teamed up with him to make it happen.

Keep Showing Up started filming in Summer 2025. The final film will be released on No Laying Up's YouTube channel on August 12, 2026, thanks to the support of members of The Nest.
